UHasselt is looking for a motivated PhD researcher highly interested in developing active and intelligent packaging materials based on biopolymers using three innovative processing techniques to incorporate biobased additives via i) melt processing; ii) ultrasonic spray coating, and iii) 3D printing.

They warmly welcome a PhD student to their research team at imo-imomec (MPR&S — FME) Universiteit Hasselt – Faculteit Industriële Ingenieurswetenschappen. In addition, a collaboration with the LRGP I Laboratoire Réactions et Génie des Procédés group of the University of Lorraine will be established. Both universities are partners of the European University on Responsible Consumption and Production, known as the EURECA-PRO alliance.

Key Qualifications
In addition to the required academic background, knowledge of biopolymers, bioadditives, (bio)polymer processing techniques, rheology, morphology of coatings, and physical-chemical characterization techniques, as well as a strong motivation to work in a multidisciplinary team, will strengthen your candidacy.
