SUMMARY:Belgian Fusion Day
DESCRIPTION:Curious how fusion can power tomorrow? \nDiscover Belgium’s role in the path to fusion energy! \nOpen to students\, educators\, researchers and innovators \nThe Belgian Fusion Day is a joint event organised by the fusion research laboratories at the Royal Military Academy\, the Belgian Nuclear Research Centre SCK-CEN\, Universiteit Gent\, KU Leuven\, Université libre de Bruxelles and Université Catholique de Louvain. It aims to showcase to a broad audience the current state of Fusion Energy development and the involvement of Belgium in the pursuit of this abundant and carbon-free energy source of the future. \nIn this 4th edition of the event\, we focus in particular on the landscape of private fusion companies\, and the role Belgium’s high-tech industry can play in the development of future fusion power plants. The program includes: \n\nInvited speakers from ITER – the world’s largest fusion experiment – and private fusion companies\nOverview of expertise of the Belgian fusion labs\nViews on how Belgium’s high-tech industry can contribute to the development of fusion power plants\nNetworking lunch and reception\n\nWe make the link with fusion-relevant technologies\, including: \n\nAdvanced cooling solutions\nAdvanced computing and digital twins\nGenerative design\nData science\, machine learning\, AI\nAntenna design\nAdditive manufacturing\nThermomechanical analysis and structural integrity assessment\nPlasma Diagnostics & Control\nHeat- & neutron-resistant materials\nVacuum technology and cryogenics\nRemote handling
