Kristel Crombé is a researcher at the Laboratory for Plasma Physics, Royal Military Academy, Brussels, and an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Physics at Ghent University.
She earned her PhD in 2005 from the Department of Applied Physics at Ghent University, where she specialized in spectroscopic methods to diagnose impurity ion dynamics in plasmas.
Dr. Crombé has conducted significant research on the TEXTOR tokamak at the Institut für Energie- und Klimaforschung Plasmaphysik in Jülich, Germany, the JET tokamak in Culham, UK, and the Wendelstein 7-X stellarator in Greifswald, Germany.
Her research focuses on plasma wave interactions with radio frequency antennas for plasma heating, wall conditioning techniques, and plasma diagnostics. Additionally, she is actively involved in the European Physical Society, serving as the Chair of the Plasma Physics Division.
